When Does the NHS Cover Removal of a Skin Lesion?

If you have a skin lesion that needs to be removed to treat a health condition, such as skin cancer, it will generally be done on the NHS. If the lesion is in a place where it is likely to get damaged, such as where you shave, it may be removed on the NHS to avoid irritation or causing further harm to it. However, if you want a skin lesion removed for cosmetic reasons, your GP or dermatologist may suggest that you get it removed privately.
